Time to talk about another cool project of mine! Supermatch is an online community for budding and existing entrepreneurs, students, and hustlers to launch products, find opportunities, and network with like-minded people. This was a project done in collaboration with LGS (Lime Green Studios), and once again, my contribution was as a UI/UX developer.
This project could be categorized as a website redesign. I was initially shown the basic design, but I felt it wasn’t quite up to the mark and seemed to be missing something. So, I suggested a few improvements, and the client agreed.
The client also provided the logo, based on which I proposed a suitable color scheme: pink and yellow as the primary colors. The client’s main requirements were:
I felt it was important to emphasize that the community primarily focuses on Tamil Nadu–based hustlers, entrepreneurs, and students. Hence, I suggested adding a Connect page to highlight the community’s purpose and mission, and the client wholeheartedly accepted the idea.
Needless to say, I was given full autonomy over the design process.
Since my role was purely in design, I worked entirely using Figma. Once I gathered all the requirements, I started with the landing page.
For this project, I drew inspiration from multiple sources. One key idea was to incorporate doodles as a major visual element. The design was also heavily inspired by the work of a Dribbble artist. Keeping the purpose of the website in mind, I was able to create an engaging and visually appealing landing page, which was well received by the client.
Next, I moved on to the features section, where I implemented a bento grid layout, which fit perfectly. I then continued working on the remaining sections in a similar manner. Throughout the project, I had a clear vision of how each section should look, which made the process smooth and enjoyable.
For the FAQs section, I drew inspiration from the hiring section of the makeinsoftware.com website.
I completed the project within 5 days, and the client was extremely satisfied with the final outcome. I also received great feedback, which made the experience even more rewarding.
This project was particularly valuable as it helped me not only improve my design skills but also explore the work of other designers and draw inspiration for future projects. Overall, the journey was insightful, resourceful, and highly rewarding.
